Wednesday, November 12, 2003 Agro stations under the new rules and not used for colony growth may produce 2EP per turn. Wed, 09 Jun 2004 Beginning this turn, freighters no longer need to actually transport EP from mining worlds. If the system has a major planet, then one small freighter will handle all mining bases in the system. If there's no major planet, every three mining bases in the system require one small freighter. A large freighter counts as two small freighters for all purposes. Freighters simply sit in the system they're handling. > If the freighter is killed during the turn, are the EPs from those mines > destroyed, delayed or what? Delayed for one turn. This production counts as extra for the next turn when calculating how many freighters are needed, and can carry over indefinitely. This means that if you have one station, you'll get all of the EP the next turn (assuming the freighter is replaced). If you have two, you'll get the surplus EP over two turns unless you add another freighter. 1 mining station => 40EP (from previous turn) + 40EP (production) => 1 freighter 2 mining stations => 80EP + 80EP => 2 freighters Currently, all mining stations produce 40EP/turn. If mining planets are upped to 60EP (or any amount not divisible by 40), you'll need one freighter for each 120EP. Thu, 08 Apr 2004 The carcass of a space boar is encrusted with valuable minerals. When you kill one, you will be told the EP value of these minerals and any dilithium present. In order to harvest this EP and dilithium, you must use a Tug to tow the carcass to one of your Major Planets. The resources are then collected immediately. The boar counts as any Tug's maximum towing capacity, and incurs the speed penalty. Alternately, you may "mine" the carcass using Prospecting Freighters (F-PS or F-PL). Each small prospecting freighter can mine 10EP or 1 Dilithium Crystal per strategic impulse. Multiple freighters may be used, and one F-PL counts as two F-PSs for this purpose. The resulting EP must then be transferred back to a Major Planet, and the dilithium must be moved to where it will be used.
