Border Incident Results in Abandonment Of Kzinti Vessel

Lyra - 78.1.12 - Ships from the Lyran imperial navy confronted a group of Kzinti warships alleging that they were in violation of Lyran space on an espionage mission. The confrontation did not result in an engagement; however, the Kzinti abandoned one ship that the Lyran military is labeling an "espionage vessel." The Lyrans have confiscated this ship, whose name and registry have not been identified.

The Kzinti government claims that their fleet was on a peaceful mission to the Carnivon, and that they were not in Lyran territory, but in Carnivon. However, the fleet is being withdrawn in lieu of Lyran activity.

The Lyran government has filed diplomatic protests against the Kzinti for what they are calling "an unwaranted invasion of Lyran space." As usual, there has been no intelligable comment from the Carnivon.
