Saboteurs Strike Kzinti, Federation

Kzint - 78.1.1 - Two unusual cases of sabotage have Kzinti and Federation officials concerned about possible militants and food supply tampering.

The Kzinti released a statement saying that a human infant has been caught after destroying a records facility containing classified information about fleet vessels. No one was reported injured and despite severe damage some of the data was able to be salvaged. Federation officials have denied any knowledge or involvement in this incident.

In a seperate statement, a Starfleet representative said that a Kzinti infant had been caught while attempting to sabotage a similar records facility in their territory. The child was apprehended before any significant damage could be performed.

These seemingly bizarre incidents are being investigated by police officials from both governments. Although cross border civilian transit is common in this region, neither are sure how a child of the other species managed to get into secure facilities and reak havoc. "People occasionally just don't think anything of children," said city administrator George Hershyl, "They just seem so cute and inoffensive ... that is of course until they put down the plastique and crawl away."

One theory is that a shipment of baby food that was lost during the recent raid on a Federation-Hydran shipping route may have resurfaced in regions near the Federation-Kzinti border. Officials are investigating the possibility that this food may have been tampered with, possibly by the addition of psychotropic or psychomodulating drugs, and reintroduced into the population.

Officials refuse to comment on what anybody would have to gain by destroying these records, or why infants are being used in the assaults. Hard-line social conservative activist Growls-with-Mouth-Open, however, is calling for harsh penalties against the perpetrators of these acts saying, "We must reintroduce the spanking and spray bottle penalties! Anybody who says these are not deterants againsts these dastardly criminals is obviously a Lyran-loving traitor!"

No Lyran-loving traitors were available for comment.
