Tholians Find New Home
|
(by Tolene)
After driving out the nefarious aliens from Tholian occupied space, nearly two years ago, Consul General Willtor released this statement: "Let this victory signify a new beginning for the Tholian peoples. Our journey has ended, we are in a new galaxy, we have a new chance, we have a New Tholia. Our journey has ended, and our work must now begin. We must rebuild. We must reinforce our borders against any more possible alien intrusions. Now is the time for the Tholian peoples to regain greatness."
The Tholian Chronicle has learned that our production facilities are in working order, once again, and that Tholian forces are patrolling the newly-defined neutral zone. No sign of the alien mennace has been detected, nor has any contact with any other alien species been established.

Loskene Takes Command of the Arachnid
|
(by Mintor)
Loskene, son of the late Loskor, hero of the old Empire, has taken a command of his own. Though only a child as his father won victory after victory over the Seltorians, Loskene remembers well the news reports from the front. Loskene pledges to fight dutifully whatever aliens cross our borders, for the protection of the Holdfast, saying, "If aliens enter our space, I will instruct my gunner to shoot them."
The Arachnid is a mere 200 years old, not much older than Loskene, himself. Used as a police ship in the home galaxy, it will have to take on the role of Naval Cruiser until larger ships can be constructed.

Point/Counterpoint - Prisoners of War?
|
TC: There are bound to be strange, aggressive aliens in this galaxy, just as there were in our own. Just as they are bound to exist, they are also bound to try to invade Tholian space. What should be done with the crews of the ships which are disabled?
Moltar: We should capture them and use them for slave labor. What is more fitting irony than forcing those who would destroy us, to build our empire? Zorak: Foolishness. This is problematic at best. I am reminded of the numerous uprisings we had with slave races in the home galaxy, not the least of which were the Seltorians. I think we're only asking for another overthrow. Moltar: Don't be a jerk, you jerk! We need the alien slave workers to rebuild our empire. Besides, when their comrades come looking for them, and if we're in a tight spot, we have bargaining chips. Zorak: You're a real piece of work, you know that? Diplomacy is for the weak. Consul General Willtor will never cow before an alien species. Besides, slaves cost more than they're worth. Moltar: I'd kick your [explitive-deleted]... if Tholians had [explitive-deleted]. If we want to restore the greatness of our empire, that's only going to be done through the acquisition of alien slaves. Zorak: Why don't you come over here and say that? Moltar: I just did, and you didn't do anything about it!
TC: There you have it. Clearly some good arguments both ways. Consul General Willtor has yet to set policy on this issue, though the time may come when action must be taken.

Mobile Base Construction
|
(by Rotene)
New Tholia Construction Dock #3 - I'm standing here in the New Tholia shipyards, which are finally coming to life. I can see behind me the building of a segment of our first mobile base. The destination of this base is unknown, though it will probably be in the neutral zone. I am informed by the workers, here, that this is only the first of many mobile bases to be constructed.
One concern remains present, however: a shortage of particle cannons. Thus, the upgrade from mobile base to base station may be hindered, at least for the time being.
